Cozy Insulation Terms and Conditions

General:

  1. Quotes are valid for a period of 30 days and are subject to these terms and conditions.

  2. A 50-year product warranty and 10-year labour warranty applies to all installations by Cozy Insulation. The guarantee on insulation is provided by the manufacturer, and their terms and conditions can be found on their website.

     

  3. During insulation works (excluding underfloor), the power will be turned off and electrical board locked for the duration of the installation.

     

  4. A deposit of 30% of the total quoted price is required to be paid to confirm the booking. By making a payment on the invoice, you agree to these terms and conditions.

     

  5. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the final invoice date which is issued on completion of the works. If you believe there is a discrepancy or error on an invoice, please contact us within 2 business days of receiving the invoice to resolve the issue.

     

  6. Late invoice payments may incur a 20% late fee per day.
  7. Payment is to be made via Internet Transfer to the account specified.

     

  8. The quotation does not include any costs for unforeseen works that may become apparent or required. This includes any ducted systems that may be installed post the initial insulation inspection.

     

  9. Insulation removals include the extraction of insulation materials only (as stated in the quotation). Removal of other building materials e.g. old tiles, timber and general rubbish will incur additional charges.

     

  10. Insulation material is supplied and installed to accessible areas. If the client requires removal and installation to inaccessible areas that may require drilling, this will be an additional charge.

     

  11. Garage / carports and external storerooms are not included unless specified on the quotation.

     

  12. Cozy Insulation does not accept liability for safety and security of materials stored on the premises prior or during installation.

     

  13. Cozy Insulation reserves the right not to be bound by time constraints. Wet weather can impact booking dates and may result in the postponing of works.

     

  14. Cozy Insulation does not cover costs associated with repairing old wiring or electrical products.

     

  15. If the premises is not occupied at the time of installation, the client authorises Cozy Insulation to enter the premises for the express purpose of insulation works.

     

  16. Possession of goods does not pass until they are paid for in full.

     

  17. If a booking is cancelled a refund of the deposit will be made less an administration fee of $100. Refunds will be paid within a 28-day period.

     

  18. Electrical works:
    1. After new safety switches/RCBO’s have been installed, if there is any earth leakage faults the new safety switches/RCBO’s will detect this and trip the circuit as a safety precaution, while the existing circuit breakers/fuses would not have picked up on these faults.

    2. There may also be an interconnection between some circuits meaning that some active or neutral conductors from one circuit are mixed into another circuit, if there are interconnections of different circuits then the new safety switches/RCBO’s will detect this and trip off as a safety precaution.

    3. If there are any present faults as outlined above, fault finding will need to be completed so fault can be repaired to ensure that the new safety switches/RCBO’s stay on and do not trip off.

    4.  This fault finding will be charged as an extra cost of $190.00 ex GST per hour which can be discussed while on site with the attending electrician.

    5. We cannot take responsibility for pre-existing electrical faults or incorrect wiring that RCBO’s detect.

Sustainable Household Scheme works:

  1. Deposits are not required for ACT Sustainable Household Scheme loan or rebate jobs. Full payment is requested directly with the loan provider (Brighte) based on the approved loan contract, after works have been completed.

  2. In regards to the Electrical Safety Inspection (if applicable and mandatory for SHS loan/rebate and rental jobs), the customer is required to pay this fee, even if they choose not to proceed with the insulation installation after the inspection report has been provided.

  3. Mandatory electrical inspections and any associated works are required to be completed prior to insulation installation for all ACT Government SHS and HESP loan and private rental jobs. Relevant electrical safety documentation is provided for client records.

  4. Rental ceiling insulation compliance certificates are issued within 7 days of the receipt of full payment for works completed.
